Congrats, grad!

I’m happy to announce that I recently graduated from Otterbein University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance. Otterbein has provided me with so many wonderful experiences, including the opportunity to perform in six Mainstage productions, become a member of Mainstage Improv, serve as the Musical Theatre Representation for Cap and Dagger, and Co-Choreograph an “As I See It”, An Original Dance Concert. I also had the chance to intern and showcase with The Growing Studio in NYC during my last semester of school. I am so lucky to have gotten to know and work with so many kind and talented students and faculty members. Go Cards!

Many years ago, I was introduced to a young woman from New York City who ignited my lifelong desire to move to the greatest city in the world.  She was a six year old city child who lived at the Plaza Hotel and, although she was young, she enjoyed the many adventures and extravagances that the city had to offer.  I read her memoirs and watched movies about her, obsessed with the essence of her extraordinary urban life.

Her name was Eloise.  Eloise, at the Plaza.

I always knew that one day I, too, would move to the big city to have an extraordinary life.  When I was thirteen, my sister took me on a birthday trip to see New York City for the very first time.  I meticulously curated a list of everything I needed to see and do on my first visit here.  “Logan’s New York List” included everything from my first Broadway show, to riding the Subway, to not seeing stars at night (because of the light pollution).  This thorough investigation assured me that the city would be my future home.  At this point, I had already discovered my love for theatre and, coincidentally, NYC seems like the place for anybody with a pair of character shoes and a dream of being an actor.

So, here I am!  My last semester at Otterbein will be spent completing my BFA in Musical Theatre by interning with The Growing Studio in NYC.  I am so grateful for this opportunity and to begin this new chapter.  Although I won’t be Logan at the Plaza (I’m an actor, remember), I look forward to making the city my own… and creating some new additions to Logan’s New York List!
